‘La barbe !’ (‘the beard!’). This is usually said while stroking one’s chin (not sure if it works so well for women, though). It translates as ‘I’m bored’. I have realized only recently that this expression\u00a0must have grown\u00a0from meaning that when time appears to be passing slowly and without interest, it can mean there is time\u00a0for a beard to grow. Mmmm…<\/p>\n
