I have realized only recently that this expression\u00a0must have grown\u00a0from meaning that when time appears to be passing slowly and without interest, it can mean there is time\u00a0for a beard to grow. Mmmm&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I usually get the urge to kill anyone who complains of being bored too persistently. Can&#8217;t they find just one tiny thing of interest?
