My poem of the week is by contemporary poet David Masters who lives in Essex and is a lecturer in Critical Theories of 20th Century Art at the Open University.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s from his book of poetry, Light Calling<\/p>\n
Our poem today was written in 2014 and is called Strange Child<\/p>\n
A strange child for many reasons
\nAt 18
\nChurch Youth Group.
\nI tell them:
\nJung said he didn\u2019t know if he was sitting on a rock
\nOr whether he was the rock he was sitting on.
\nBrilliant I thought. Didn\u2019t know why
\nBut I knew it was brilliant.
\nI met silence in return
\nThen normal conversation resumed.<\/p>\n
