The beautiful subjunctive

No, I am not being sarcastic, and I’ll soon show you the reason I call it that. A big tip: do not study dry verb tables but try to get a grasp of the subjunctive from reading, as the same words occur again and again. Three of the most common ones are here in italics:

Il fait ; qu’il le fasse ; je veux qu’il le fasse vite : he does; may he do it; I want him to do it quickly……………………….il peut ; qu’il puisse ; je pense qu’il puisse le chanter : he can; that he may be able to; I think that he can sing it………………………il est là ; qu’il soit là ; esperons qu’il soit là : he is there; let him be there; let’s hope that he will be there.

Now you will be able to sound like an expert in French…
