Confusing ‘humour’ and ‘humeur’ is a big mistake as ‘l’humour’ means ‘humour’, as one may expect, but ‘l’humeur’ is mood; more especially it is likely to mean a bad mood/ill humour:
Un geste d’humeur : a bad-tempered gesture; dire quelquechose avec humeur : to say something testily.
Manquer d’humour : to have no sense of humour; l’humour à froid (literally ‘cold humour’): deadpan humour.
Note: the positive ‘humour’ is a masculine noun, and the more negative ‘humeur’ is a feminine noun. More on this subject later!
