Although loudly despised by staunch ‘down with the people’ (heavy irony here) liberals, and if you can take the hysteria about immigration etc with a pinch of salt, there is (love it or hate it or swing both ways) actually a lot of ‘food for thought’ in this paper. And, although I turn the pages with a shudder over at least two of its regular writers, there are four that are outstanding and exceptional: Craig Brown, Quentin Letts, Simon Parke and Chris Tookey, their critic.
